Every load is a compliance event — and a margin event.

Refrigerated transport operates where temperature excursions aren't just spoiled product — they're customer rejections, insurance claims, and FDA audits. iMatrix puts the probe in the cargo core, the GPS on the tractor, and the FSMA record in the cloud. One timeline per load, exportable in one click.

The jobs this industry actually needs telematics to do.

❄

Continuous cargo temperature

NEO-1P NIST probe in the cargo core reporting every 30 seconds. Not "what was it at the dock" — what was it for the entire run.

🚨

Alerts before the load spoils

Threshold breach → SMS + email to dispatch and driver within seconds. Escalation if no acknowledgment.

📑

FSMA Sanitary Transport exports

21 CFR 1.908 documentation built into every shipment record. Signed PDF per load, formatted the way auditors want.

🚪

Door-event logging

Sentry-1 magnetic sensors log every open/close on reefer boxes. Correlated to GPS and cargo temp on one timeline.

🏷

PTI + lot traceability

GTIN + lot + timestamp-correlated temperature records. Recall scope in minutes, not days.

🥇

Defensible QA

Big-box grocery QA teams demand NIST-traceable probes. We ship them with the certificate. That's the end of the conversation.

See the whole cold chain, not just the probe.

Cargo temperature tells you a load is warming. The reefer's own CAN data tells you why: compressor state, refrigerant pressures, air temperatures, door status and reefer battery, decoded by the FC-501 and timestamped against position. Here the return air is 3 °C over setpoint while the cargo door has been open for 30 seconds.

Tractor and reefer trailer diagram with 15 numbered sensor points and decoded values: FC-501 GPS fix, compressor running at 3072 rpm, supply, coil and ambient air temperatures, refrigerant suction and discharge pressure, return air 5.00 °C against a 2.0 °C setpoint, cargo door open for 30 seconds, reefer battery 96 percent, trailer bogie vibration, and tractor engine data.
Demonstration decode: a 300-second CAN trace from a reefer unit, decoded against its reference DBC and shown at t+230 s. The Acme Cold Chain ACR-40 is a fictional unit created for this demonstration. Open full size.

NEO-1P NIST

Reefer Core Probe

ISO 17025-traceable probe in the cargo core. The defensible placement when QA asks.

MICRO-GW

Micro Gateway

BLE-to-cellular bridge in the tractor. Pushes reefer temperature on the same cellular link as FleetConnect GPS.

FC-501 / FC-201

FleetConnect

Tractor telematics with dual CAN bus. Correlates GPS + driver + engine data with cargo temperature.
