How iMatrix Systems collects, uses, and protects your information — for the website, iMatrix Cloud, and every device we ship.
Last updated: October 2026 · Effective: October 2026
1. Overview
iMatrix Systems, Inc. ("iMatrix," "we," "us," or "our") operates imatrixsys.com, agrowtronics.com, iMatrix Cloud, and the hardware and software products that carry the iMatrix brand. This policy describes what we collect, why, how we use it, and the rights you have.
We operate on a simple principle: the operator owns the asset, and the operator should own the data. This policy reflects that — minimum collection, clear purposes, and data portability by default.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
Account details — name, email, company, phone when you create an iMatrix Cloud account or request a quote.
Billing information — processed by our payment processor; iMatrix does not store full card numbers.
Support correspondence — emails, chat logs, and form submissions sent to our support, sales, and press channels.
2.2 Information from your devices
Telemetry — GPS, CAN bus readings, sensor readings (temperature, humidity, door state, etc.), device diagnostics, and firmware version. This is the product.
Operational metadata — device identifiers, network info (cellular carrier, signal strength), and timestamps necessary to route and store telemetry.
2.3 Information collected automatically on our websites
Log data — IP address, browser, referrer, pages visited, timestamps.
Cookies — session cookies to keep you logged in; analytics cookies, only if you allow them, to understand how the website and iMatrix Cloud are used (see 2.4).
Visit statistics from server logs — our web servers record each page request, including your IP address, as every web server does. Without using cookies, we use these records to count page views and visits and to look up the organization or network that the IP address belongs to (for example, a company name or an internet provider), so we can see which organizations visit our website. We keep the page, time, referring website, browser and device type, approximate country, and the organization or network name, linked by a temporary identifier that changes every day. We do not keep your IP address in our analytics, and we do not use this to identify you personally.
2.4 Product analytics and screen recordings
Who and where. We use an analytics tool that we host ourselves, on our own servers in the United States, to understand how people use imatrixsys.com and iMatrix Cloud, including iMatrix Cloud when it is served under a customer's own web address. Analytics data is not shared with any analytics vendor.
Consent.
Analytics is off until you allow it.
On the website, you choose in the cookie banner.
In iMatrix Cloud, you choose in the banner shown on first visit.
You can change your choice at any time: in iMatrix Cloud under Account settings → Profile → Privacy, and on the website through the link.
If you decline, or later turn analytics off, nothing further is collected.
What we collect when you allow it:
the pages you visit
the buttons and links you click
referrer, browser, device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address
your IP address
When you are signed in to iMatrix Cloud, we link this activity to your account: your user ID, email address, and your organization's plan.
Screen recordings. With your consent, we may record a sample of sessions: a replay of page layout, mouse movement, and clicks. Everything typed into form fields, and other fields that show personal data, are hidden before the recording leaves your browser. Device telemetry is never recorded.
How we use it. To find where people get stuck, fix bugs, and decide what to improve. We do not use it for advertising and do not sell it.
Who can see it. Only authorized iMatrix staff.
Retention. Screen recordings are deleted after 30 days. Other analytics events are deleted after 25 months.
Your rights. You can ask us to access or delete your analytics data at any time (see section 6).
3. How we use information
Deliver the service you've paid for — store your telemetry, run alerts, export reports.
Operate the website and the Cloud portal, including authentication and session management.
Communicate with you about your account, security, billing, and service changes.
Improve our products — analysis of how the website and features are used, including, with your consent, analytics linked to your account and screen recordings (see 2.4).
Comply with legal obligations, defend against fraud or abuse, and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent your telemetry to third-party data brokers.
4. How we share information
Service providers — cloud hosting, cellular carriers (EdgeUplink eSIM partners), payment processors, email delivery, and customer support tooling. These parties only process data on our behalf and under contract.
Website services from Google — with your consent, Google Analytics for website statistics; Google Fonts for page fonts; and Google reCAPTCHA to protect our contact forms from spam. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
Partners you authorize — if you enable an integration (API, webhook, TMS connector), we share the data you specifically scope to that integration.
Legal requirements — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect safety.
Business transfers — if iMatrix is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that deal; we will notify you.
5. Data retention
Telemetry you generate is retained for the life of the subscribed device — that's the product. Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for billing, legal, and dispute-resolution purposes. You can request raw-data export and account deletion at any time. Product analytics: screen recordings 30 days; other analytics events, including visit statistics from server logs, 25 months (see 2.3 and 2.4).
6. Your rights
Access & export — request a copy of your personal data or telemetry in JSON/CSV/PDF at any time.
Correction — update account details from within iMatrix Cloud or by contacting us.
Deletion — request that we delete your account and personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
Opt-out — opt out of marketing email or SMS via the links in those communications, or via the opt-out page.
California, Virginia, Québec, EU and UK residents — you have additional rights under applicable law, including the right to withdraw consent to analytics at any time; contact us to exercise them.
Withdraw analytics consent — turn off "Share usage analytics" in iMatrix Cloud (Account settings → Profile → Privacy) or change your choice in the website's .
Object to visit statistics — contact privacy@imatrixsys.com and we will exclude your organization's network from these statistics.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest for telemetry and credentials. Access to customer data is restricted to authorized personnel, logged, and audited. Device firmware updates are cryptographically signed. No system is perfectly secure — report vulnerabilities to security.
8. International transfers
iMatrix is a U.S. company. If you access the service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (including Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.
9. Children's privacy
iMatrix services are designed for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders and posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.
